Following the resignalling of the Network Rail line between Wolverhampton and Telford, and consequent closure of Cosford and Codsall signal boxes (amongst others), some considerable amount of signalling equipment was recovered by the GWSR for use at Broadway, Gotherington and other renewals around the railway.
An interesting mix of upper and lower quadrant signals, brackets, stacked discs, and other fixtures and fittings were recovered, and these certainly get us off to an excellent start.
Unfortunately, some of the equipment had been rather less than sympathetically uninstalled by Network Rail (and we were collecting it all from the works yard), however, much of it - including several posts in good condition - will require little restoration work at all.
Our thanks go to Network Rail for allowing us to recover these parts. And also for our special extra present....
